Explore Aruba in the Caribbean this summer

Aruba is an island situated 21 miles (33 kilometres) south of the Caribbean Sea and 17 miles (27 kilometres) north of Falcon State and Paraguana Peninsula in Venezuela. Formerly, Aruba, together with its neighbouring islands Bonaire and Curacao, formed a group of islands in the Lesser Antilles region, commonly referred to as the ABC islands. Aruba has a total land area of 74.5 square miles (193 square kilometres), and an estimated population of 104,494 in the year 2007.

Unlike other Caribbean islands, Aruba has a dry, arid climate and cactus-strewn landscape. This climate has helped the tourism in the island because visitors expect a relatively sunny, warm weather. Aruba has an average mean temperature of 81 F (27 C), and is known for its white sand beaches. The island is divided into two coasts: the southwest and northeast coast. The northeast coast, which is near the Atlantic, has a rough sea and few beaches with rocky coastline and dangerous currents. The southwest coast, on the other hand, has warm waters, turquoise seas, and a number of white sand beaches. The capital city as well as the largest city, is Oranjestad; the harbour city is Barcadera. In 1499, Aruba was first discovered by Spain; however, it was then acquired in 1636 by the Dutch.

During the late 19th century, gold mining was discovered and became famous; it was then followed by an oil refinery industry in 1924. During the last years of the 20th century, tourism became a major contributor to the island’s revenue. In 1986, Aruba seceded from the Bonaire and Curacao islands, and became an autonomous, separate member of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Along with the white-sand beaches, there is a wide range of destinations in Aruba that tourists can visit.

The Alto Vista Chapel, a small catholic chapel, is located above the hills of the northern part of the island; it became famous for its wonderful architectural design. The Arikok National Park, which comprises 18% of Aruba’s land area, is renowned for its preserved resources including rocks and mineral formations, as well as other indigenous species found on the park. Other points of interest in Aruba include Ayo and Casibari Rock Formations, Hooiberg, Caves of Aruba, Mount Jamanota, Bushiribana and Balashi, Frenchman’s Pass, California Lighthouse, Tierra Del Sol Golf Course and Quadiriki Caves. Photography Studio Business Plan Making The Most Of Your Space

When opening a photography studio, you must make a significant initial, and then monthly, investment in your space. To justify these expenses to investors in your business plan, show how you will utilize the space to its fullest. It represents one of your major assets, and renting such a studio while explaining in your plan that your shoots will primarily be out on location shows poor planning on your part to funders.

Consider what customer markets you should pursue to keep the space booked up with your own shoots as much as possible. This will likely be the highest revenue-generating use of the space for you. Look for the customers that freelance photographers without a studio are unable to gain and market the strengths your space will offer. By investing in some additional backdrops or decorative elements to dress the space, you can expand the options of shoots you can accommodate in-house significantly.

Other Uses

Can part of your studio double as an office space during downtime? If you can limit your need for separate office space you may be able to cut down on your rent, if you can plan for this before signing a lease.

If your lease allows it, you can also rent out your studio to other parties while it is idle, as long as they are for legal uses. This can be for small parties and events or shoots by other photographers, for example. Be sure that those you rent to carry their own insurance to lower your risk and that your agreement with them further limits the liability you take on from their rental.

For every day you rent your studio out to another business or individual, you will bring in revenue, but you will also incur an unseen opportunity cost. For example if you rent your studio out for a day for $500 two weeks in advance of a date and then you must turn down a shoot that comes up for that day only for which you would net $1,000, you have effectively lost $500 rather than earned it. Only experience will teach you what rates are reasonable to cover the probability of last-minute shoots coming up.

Can I Recover Data From A Broken Memory Card

Everyone has a digital camera or device now days, allowing them to record those wonderful moments. It seems it gets easier all the time to lose pictures, either by deleting the wrong files or by memory cards breaking. One frequently asked question in the technology field, “Can I retrieve data from a broken memory card”?, and ” Do you think the pictures are gone permanently?” Well most of the time the answer to both is “possibly”. When your memory card is broken, it stands less of a chance of recovery. The memory card has such delicate components, and the smallest thing could lead to the loss of saved data.

These are more or less your options. Based on how a memory card is actually broken, can determine whether or not an easy out will be available. So, what do you do now? You put your trust in a product that is supposed to store and keep your pictures and data safe. In return you are left empty handed. Whether your memory card was lost, destroyed, or damaged, to most it is important that you recover your data. A memory card that has been burnt, or has extreme water damage, may not have any partitions left to try and save. Either way you are left wondering where to turn. Some things you should try before tossing your card for good:

Some ways to recover lost files are – download recovery software, take it to a photography developing place, or perhaps to a Radio Shack dealer or similar specialty shop. Even sending the memory card in to a professional data recovery service is suggested.

We suggest you simply try to download a free data recovery program at home first. There’s nothing to loose, except the high cost of paying someone to do it for you. Data recovery software is a non destructive and read only utility that enables you to recover lost images, music, video files, and other office documents from your memory card. Most times this can recover, and needs no further steps. This step may not apply to those severely damaged. In those cases, professional help may be the only option left.

Taking the memory card to a nearest photo developer may be an affordable option as well. You may simply walk in and ask if they can pull up anything. They may have a more advanced way of recovering your data.

Lastly, if none of the other options have worked, it is time to decide how valuable the files on your card are. It will cost quite a bit for a professional to recover them for you. In turn, they may not be able to recover them on account of the memory card being totally destroyed.

There are many ways to recover, and to prevent later loss of files, but always make sure you back up your files often. For most of us, pictures are irreplaceable!
